Welcome to 66th All India Commerce Conference 

5 - 7th, December 2013

 

The ICA one of the premier professional associations of India, was founded in 1947. It was formed as an apex body comprising experts from Commerce, Management, Economics, Technology and Business Community, with objectives such as (i) strengthening commerce and management education, (ii) promote research in the field of business education, (iii) organise periodic seminars, workshops and conferences, (iv) undertake publication of journals and books, (v) provide consultancy services, and (vi) to act as a think tank to offer suggestions to the policy makers at the national level to formulate and implement measures that would add to the economic growth of the country. ICA, like its counterparts in Industry viz, CII, ASSOCHAM and FICCI, takes active interest in debates and discussions on the issues of national importance. Annual conference held at the national level is an event to be watched. Till now 65 conferences have been organised at different parts of the country. ICA has also been publishing Indian Journal of Commerce, a quarterly held in high esteem in all circles.

 

Bangalore University, was established in 1964 and has grown in all directions. It is now one of the largest Universities in Asia. The University operates from City Campus and Jnana Bharathi. It was accredited with “Five Stars” by the NAAC in 2002 and re-accredited with ‘A’ Grade in 2008. It has been ranked as one of the top 20 Universities in the country by the India Today – Nielsen Study (2012).It offers UG, PG courses & Research Programmes in six faculties spread over 54 departments. It has 694 affiliated colleges. The University has launched five year Integrated courses in the faculties of Biological Science, Social Science and Business Studies. Bangalore University has entered into MOU's with Universities and institutions of National and International repute.

 

The Department of Commerce was established in the year 1969. Over a period of nearly five decades, It has grown in terms of introducing new courses, undertaking research programmes, publishing books,organising seminars and conferences and holding fests. As of now, there are about 700 students in the Department pursuing programmes such as M. Com, M.F.A, M.T.A, M.I.B , PGDBA, PGDMM, PGDFM, PGDHRM, PGDIB and Ph. D. Department of Commerce had the privilege of successfully organising All India Commerce Conference in 1991. Now is the 66th conference in the offing.
