	Professor Dr. K. DHARMALINGAM Research Professor , School of Biotechnology, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai His area of current research interest is mainly clinical Proteomics. He has published more than 200 papers in peer reviewed journals in the area of Molecular Biology, Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology and also authored many books. He was instrumental in starting Biotechnology research and teaching (under DBT net) at Madurai Kamaraj University. He is a member of Indian Academy of Sciences and Indian National Science Academy and an elected member of Guha Research Conference. Dr. K. Dharmalingam has obtained numerous honors and awards including Shanthi Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for the year 1992 - Biological Sciences Elected Fellow, Indian Academy of Sciences, 1992 Elected member, Guha Research Conference 1985 Elected Fellow, National Academy of Sciences, 1994 Member, Syndicate of Madurai Kamaraj University, 1997-2000 Chairman, Task force on Bioinformatics and Infrastructure facilities by DBT, Govt. of India, New Delhi - 1997-2003 Member, Task force on Human Genetics and Genome analysis, DBT, New Delhi, 1999-2003.
