On behalf of AIOTA EC and Organizing Committee of OTICON’2016: the 53rd Annual National Conference of AIOTA at S.R.M. University, Kanchipuram, Chennai, I am pleased to invite members of AIOTA, students ,overseas faculties ,  clinical therapists and guests on this prestigious academic annual feast  of OT’s in India.

 

The Conference is enthusiastically organized by S. R. M. College of Occupational Therapy& S.R.M. University, in close collaboration with Tamil Nadu Branch of AIOTA at the University Auditorium from Jan. 29-31, 2016. Chennai, the capital city of Tamil Nadu is sited on the Coromandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal. Formerly known as Madras, the Chennai is the 4th largest city of India. The Marina Beach in Chennai, covered with glittering golden sand and a clear strip of blue sea, is among the most magnificent beaches in India. The credit of the booming economy of the city goes to the leading industries including automobile, software services, petrochemicals, financial services, textiles & hardware manufacturing, education and health.   Chennai also has a popular film industry with numerous studios involved in the making of Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu, and Hindi movies which are popular all across India. It is well connected to all major cities of India as well as with countries overseas.

 

OT Faculty and staff at S.R.M. College of OT as the host of this academic event are all set to welcome you all at Chennai. Organizing Secretary Dr. D. Suresh-Dean and Head of S.R.M. OT College, the organizing team, OT’s of South India and students are working hard to make this conference an exemplary event. Chairperson of the Scientific Program Committee- Dr. Pratibha Vaidya-Associate Professor OT at T.N. Medical College, Mumbai is in the process of preparing a Scientific Itinerary, which would be of interest to OT’s working in the vivid areas of professional and clinical practice. OTICON’2016with its rightly selected Theme ‘Innovations in Occupational Therapy -The Key Towards Excellence’ will focus on creativity &innovations in technical, scientific, research and clinical aspect of the profession.

 

In recent years we have observed tremendous development in organization, service delivery, technology and above all the research& development in the field of Occupational Therapy in India. The conferences like this provide an excellent platform to us, to share, interact and learn.
