IMA TAMBARAM_GATEWAY OF IMA TAMILNADU

The Tambaram branch of the Indian Medical Association was revived by our Senior member and it started it monthly CME activity regularly and occasional social and community oriented activities were conducted. The attendance was initially in single digit and the meeting were held monthly at the residence or schools. SKC was the use full refreshments provided by the individual member who organise the meeting. Then came the revolution in Tambaram IMA – we arranged the meeting on every second Saturday of the month as a fixed programme .The meeting were always preceded by lunch. This arrangement was an instant success since many practitioners found it convenient to come to the meeting after finishing their morning practice. We elected like minded people to the State Council and the trip to the States Council held at various places in Tamilnadu was made memorable one by the contribute of endogenous and exogenous spirit of our members.

During the State Council Meetings and in the cultural events proceeding and following it ours members conducted themselves in such a manner that the entire Tamilnadu Sates started looking at us. Our forthwright, straight forward no nonsense arguments inside the Council meeting and the spontaneous and free movement among our members in the evening brought us a lot of admires.

IMA Tambaram has became a strong motivating force in North of Tamilnadu more particularly in the City of Chennai In fact the credit for the revival of IMA IN Chennai district goes to our Tambaram Branch.

Our branch got many awards in including the best branch in its catogory and immediately the State Secretariate started functioning from Tambaram.

At the National level also Tambaram branch of IMA has shown it presence, for the visiting national office bearers, IMA Tambaram has became the Gateway to Tamilnadu.Since the last five years all the National presidents visited the Tambaram branch and it is a rare distinution which no other branch in india has so far.

The secret behind the success of IMA Tambaram is no individual is held responsible for the activities .it is always collective and due to the co-operation of its members. update
