


Dr. Ramaiah Naidu Memorial Oration Award
The Award was instituted by the Association of Medical Physicists of India (AMPI) in 1992 in honor of the pioneering Indian medical physicist Dr. Ramaiah Naidu. It consists of a citation and a silver plaque and is given to an eminent personality working in the field of Medical Physics. As per the current AMPI norms, the nominee for the RNMO Award should be a Life member of the association, should be over 55 years of age and should have a minimum 20 years of working experience in the field of medical physics with a good track record of academic, research and clinical experience. Normally the name of the RNMO awardee is decided by AMPI Executive Committee in consultation with organizing Chairman/ Secretary of the Conference.
AMPI Best Paper (Oral and Poster) Awards
The Award is given to the Best Oral and Best Poster papers presented in the conference. The Scientific Committee of the Conference helps select the papers for the best paper category and the adjudged by a committee of judges. Each of the best paper awards carries cash prize of INR 10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand only) and a certificate. The awardee should be a life member of AMPI having at least one year of standing membership on the day of presentation of the award. Parameters which are considered while selecting the best paper is: Scientific content, Relevance to the theme of the conference, Presentation quality/ clarity and Discussion within allocated time limit. Presenting author should ensure that the paper selected for best paper award has not been presented / published elsewhere. It is mandatory that the full text of the papers nominated for AMPI best paper award be submitted.
AMPI Meritorious Medical Physicist Award
This Award was instituted in 1999 jointly by Dr. M. R. Raju and Shri P. S. Vishwanathanan is given to an Indian Medical Physicists who is doing commendable job with the limited resources in a cancer hospital located in a rural area. The award carries cash prize of INR 10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand only) and a citation. Recommendations of two referees (senior medical physicist/ radiation oncologist/ head of the institution, etc) who know the work of the applicant should also be submitted along with the application. The application for this award should reach to Dr. Challapalli Srinivas, Secretary, AMPI on or before September 30, 2015. Eligible candidates may submitte online, AMPI along with a write-up which describes and supports his candidature for the award.
AMPI Dr. M. S. Agrawal Young Investigator Award
The Award was instituted in 2005 to encourage young medical physicist who is doing commendable research and development work. It carries cash prize of INR 10000/- (Rupees ten thousand only) and a citation given to eligible AMPI life member who is less than 35 years of age and has a few good quality publications in refereed journals. Applicants should provide complete personal and academic details indicating AMPI Life Membership Number and photocopies of all publications that can be submitted to Dr. Challapalli Srinivas, Secretary, AMPI on or before September 30, 2015. Eligible candidates may submitte online on or before 1st October 2015.
AMPI Partial Financial Assistance
AMPI encourages participation of its members in AMPI conferences by providing partial financial assistance to its members (sleeper class return fare by the shortest route plus a nominal allowance). An application to this effect should be sent to Dr. Challapalli Srinivas, Secretary, AMPI , preferably by email indicating membership number and date/month/year of obtaining AMPI membership. Preference will be given to those who have a paper for presentation in the conference and have received the minimum assistance in the past. A minimum of three years of membership in good standing is a prerequisite for availing AMPI partial assistance. Members who have received this assistance in 2013 or 2014 are not eligible for this assistance. The last date to receive request for financial assistance is 1st October 2015.
